Yellowwood Lodge - Knysna

Bright, spacious room, comfy bed. Walking distance to shops and bars/restaurants. Ample parking on site. Helpful but unobtrusive owner. Wifi worked pretty well.

Very little storage, fine for 1 or 2 nights, but we stayed 5 nights. Room furnishings were ok, but a little tired. Got stopped by neighbourhood watch person one evening and told it was not safe to walk 500 yards to the local pub, although we never felt threatened. Breakfast was good but a little limited. Pool was not usable, full of leaves, but then it was very early in the season, so I suspect the owner did not expect anyone to want to swim. Shame about the new building which totally blocked any view of the lagoon, but that was hardly the Lodge's fault.

To the eye on arrival was welcoming and homely. The rooms were clean and had everything necessary. The breakfasts were superb, fresh and well prepared. Ernest was a fantastic host and made our stay a really memorable one. We will recommend Yellowood Lodge to friends and family. Thank you

Bathrooms in need of an upgrade.

no shower in the room, but this wasnt a big issue, i would still stay there again

The lodge is very pretty and provides you with a peaceful place to relax while touring the area. We stayed in the rooms which have their own terrace. They are spacious and very comfortable. Anna the owner is very friendly and provides a nice breakfast and helpful tips for your outings. The gardens are lovely and it is a short walk to the centre.

The bathroom is a bit dated and the shower is not very powerful however this in no way spoiled our stay.

The owner had a wealth of infomration about the area. The room we had was large and bright, and the lodge was within walking distance to the town center.

The room was VERY clean and the staff very pleasant. Decor was extremely nice

Breakfast didn't have any variation -- a change from day to day would be good. The room would benefit from an equiped mini kitchen

Close to town centre and Harbour.

House situated in run down back street with commercial premises in front. On last night we were the only people staying in the house, chalets also empty. No staff avalable.

The Lodge was perfect for Kneysna. You can walk to the city and it is quiet. The owner is very nice and very helpful. We had agreat stay there

It has a touch of class, lovely decor in a beautiful old house.

Did not like room offered because of old trailing electric wires, noise from above room on floor boards, and light from hall penetrating through gaps in badly fitting room door. Bath taps were loose, beige toilet had a white seat on it!! Not a complaint - just statement of fact.

Very helpful friendly owner, very clean and cozy

Good position near the town centre and not far from Waterfront. We stayed in a lovely wooden family cottage with two large bedrooms and a bathroom. Lovely garden with tall yellowwood trees and palms and lots of flowers, very well kept. Very good breakfast and friendly owner.

The view of the bay was unfortunately hidden by a newly built building.

It was cozy and personal. The house used to be a family home and it still feels warm and friendly. We had two rooms: one of our rooms had a lovely porch with a view of the well-kept garden and the other room had a view of the lagoon. The rooms were tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Ernest, the owner, always present, was very helpful and interesting. The Lodge was easy walking distance to the waterfront. It is not super luxurious nor pretentious. It is a lovely, authentic lodge and felt like "home".

Unfortunately, an ugly modern garage has been built in front of the property.
